Itemised lines, per-foot rates and middleman margins — three checks to catch hidden renovation costs.

- Is it itemised? Cabinet foot-runs, worktop material, hardware brand, number of electrical points — the more detail, the more trustworthy. A single “package price” is where things hide.
- Is there a per-foot rate? Wardrobes run about S$300–320/ft, kitchen cabinets about S$120–150/ft. A unit rate makes comparison possible.
