Factory Open House Singapore — See How Your Carpentry Is Really Made
Every renovation quote in Singapore promises quality carpentry. Almost none of them will show you where it is made. We will — every Saturday and Sunday, at our own factory in Woodlands, with lunch and a ride from the MRT.
Our Factory Open House in Singapore is not a showroom tour. A showroom shows you a finished door at its best angle under good lighting. The factory floor shows you the decisions underneath that door: which board, which glue, which edge, which hinge, who drilled the holes and who checks the batch before it is wrapped. Those are the decisions you are actually buying.
Pick the session that suits your defects-check week.
Small enough to stand at the machines and ask questions.
Bring the person who will actually use the kitchen.

The visit runs long enough that you will want it.
And $1,000 in renovation cash vouchers.

What you will see
You walk the line in the order a cabinet is actually built — seven stations, start to finish.
- Step 1Board store
Raw panels, stacked and labelled. Ask for one cut open.
- Step 2Cut to size
Panels sized from the drawing file, not from a tape measure.
- Step 3Edge banding
Edges sealed under heat and pressure, then trimmed flush.
- Step 4CNC drilling
Hinge cups and shelf pins placed to the millimetre.
- Step 5Assembly
Branded hinges and runners, out of boxes you can read.
- Step 6QC bench
Batches checked, counted and labelled against your job.
- Step 7Wrap and load
Packed in install order, so your flat is not a warehouse.
A showroom starts at step seven. The first six are where the quality is decided.
- The board store — the raw panels, stacked and labelled. This is where you get to see a board cut open in section instead of taking a spec sheet’s word for it.
- Cutting and edge banding — panels sized, then edges sealed under heat and pressure. Run a fingernail along a machine-pressed edge, then along a hand-glued one. You will not need the difference explained.
- CNC drilling — hinge cups and shelf pins positioned from the drawing file. This is why a fitted wardrobe closes with even gaps instead of being shimmed on site.
- Hardware and assembly — the hinges and runners come out of branded boxes, and you can read what is on them.
- QC and packing — every batch checked and labelled before it is wrapped, so the sorting does not happen on your living-room floor.
Bring questions. The team on the floor answers them directly — you are not being handed to a salesperson with a folder. If you want the full checklist first, it is here: Eight things to check on a carpentry factory floor.
How a Factory Open House session runs
- Every Saturday and Sunday. Pick the weekend that suits you.
- Maximum 40 people per session, so you can stand at the machines and actually hear the answers.
- Maximum 2 people per household, so more families fit into each session. Bring the person who will actually use the kitchen.
- Free MRT pick-up and drop-off from Woodlands NS9, Admiralty NS10 and Sembawang NS11. These three stations only — tell us which one when you register.
- Lunch is provided. The visit runs long enough that you will want it.
- A goodie bag, a $10 NTUC voucher, and $1,000 in renovation cash vouchers to take home.
Where we are, and how to get here
61 Woodlands Industrial Park E9, #02-14 / 15 / 16 / 24 / 26, E9 Premium, Singapore 757047.
The factory sits minutes from the north end of the North South Line. The shuttle runs both ways.
Driving takes minutes from Woodlands, Admiralty, Sembawang and Yishun. If you are coming from further out, take the North South Line to one of the three pick-up stations and let the shuttle do the last leg.
When to come
There is a right week for this, and it is earlier than most owners think.
- Day 0Keys collected
Photograph everything before you touch it.
- Week 1Defects inspection
Report early — the window is short.
- Week 1-2Factory visit
Compare quotes with your own eyes.
- Week 2-3Drawings frozen
Deposit, final layout and socket plan agreed.
- Week 3-6Fabrication
Cut, edged, drilled, assembled, QC’d.
- Week 6-10Install & handover
Site works, installation, snag list.
Carpentry is the longest lead item in the job. It belongs in week one or two, not week six.
- You have just collected keys. Come in the same week as your defects inspection — you are already up north, and the decision you make here sets your move-in date.
- Your keys are coming in the next six months. This is the right time to look, while changing your mind still costs nothing.
- You are comparing quotes and they all read the same. An hour on a factory floor separates them faster than another three showroom appointments.
Register for a session
Pick a date, tell us your pick-up station, and we will confirm your slot. Sessions cap at 40 people and weekends near key-collection windows fill first.
